With mounting pressure to teach more content to more students catering to a wider variety of learning styles with smaller budgets, we have pushed our schools to the brink. We claim that education of our children is a priority - and we all agree that "It Takes a Village" - but everyone seems to be waiting for that village to step up to the plate. In Enumclaw and Black Diamond, Washington, our communities understand that WE are that village. URGENT NEED FOR VOLUNTEER TUTORS!!!!

This fall, a new tutoring program has been launched in the Enumclaw/Black Diamond area.

This program is completely community supported and is free to all students.

Now we need tutors in all subjects for grades 6 through 12. Once we have enough tutors we will expand the scope to K-12.

Important notes on tutoring

You DO NOT have to be a subject matter expert to be a tutor – 75% of tutoring is showing up.
You know far more than you think you do.
Tutoring is incredibly rewarding.
Training will be provided for free.
Free snacks and beverages (including espresso drinks) for students (decaf) and tutors (fully loaded) at the drop-in centers.
Flexible hours - short-term commitments.

Everyone agrees that it takes a village to raise a child …… problem is, everyone is still waiting for that village to step up to the plate.

We are that village! This is an opportunity for Enumclaw and Black Diamond to show the rest of the world what a small community is all about.

It is opportunities like this that make us proud to live in a small community – the opportunities to make a real difference in the lives of those around us.

Students seeking tutoring must complete and submit the Tutoring Registration form and the Code of Conduct. Anyone interested in being a tutor must complete and submit the Volunteer Application and the Volunteer Disclosure.

3- Bring Forms to one of the drop-in centers during operating hours (6PM - 9PM Tues/Thurs)
